Anitha Karthikeyan is a playback singer. She hails from a family of musicians and is based out of Chennai. Born to Mr. K. Venkatanarsimhan and Dr. (Mrs.)V. Mathuram on 13 Dec, Anitha did her BSc Computer Science from Ethiraj College and her post graduation MSc I.T from M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women. Parallelly she also got trained in Classical (Lower grade), Western (8th grade Vocals from Trinity College of London under the guidance of Augustin Paul) and Hindustani music (Karana Garana from Mrs. Megna Dandekar). ==Playback singing== Anitha gave her debut for Music director D. Imman, who introduced her in 2007 for the film Marudhamalai. She had the opportunity to explore many genres in his composition. The song 'Shokku sundari' from Aindhaam Padai fetched her a very good recognition in the music circle. Her song 'Vaada Vaada Payya' became a huge hit n fetched her more accolades. Another notable song is 'Senga Soolakara' for the movie 'Vagai Sooda Vaa'. Her rustic singing in this National award winning movie has brought her many laurels. After doing backing vocals for Mr. Ilayaraja, She got the opportunity to sing solos for him. She has classical based songs to her credit in Sri Ramarajyam in both Telugu and Tamil. Masakenakka from Gaayam 2(Telugu), Sikkikichu, Orampo from Sengathu Boomiyile(Tamil), Swalpa soundu from Suryakanthi(Kannada) are some of her songs for the maestro. She has sung in Tamil, Telugu, Urudu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. She has worked for more than 15 music directors including Illayaraja, A R Rahman, Imman, Devi Sri Prasad, G V Prakash, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vidyasagar, Mani Sharma, Srikanth Deva, Gopal Rao and others.
